We set up an automation for M&A due diligence that’s been working really well. Thought I’d document it here.
Stack: Qomplement API + Airtable + Zapier
Flow:
- Analyst uploads docs to a shared Drive folder
- Zapier watches the folder, sends new files to Qomplement
- Qomplement processes with the appropriate template
- Results pushed to Airtable via Zapier
- Airtable has views for each DD workstream (financial, legal, operational)
Templates we use:
financial_statement— for income statements, balance sheetscontract_summary— for vendor/customer contractscorp_docs— for articles of incorporation, bylaws, etc.
What I love: Analysts no longer spend 2 days manually entering data from a data room. The whole DD data extraction takes hours instead of days.
Caveat: Still need human review, especially for contracts with unusual structures. But it gets you 80% of the way there instantly.
