How to set up Email Inbox for automatic processing?

Our lab sends us results as PDF attachments via email. I want to set up the Email Inbox feature so these get automatically processed when they arrive.

I’ve read the docs but I’m confused about the forwarding setup. Do I:

  1. Forward from our existing email to a Qomplement-provided address?
  2. Or set up an IMAP connection?

And can I have different templates applied based on the sender or subject line?

Hey Priya! You can do either approach:

  1. We provide a unique forwarding address — just set up auto-forward rules in your mail client
  2. IMAP connection works too if you prefer to keep everything in your inbox

For routing by sender/subject, you can set up processing rules in the Email Inbox settings. Create rules like “if sender contains @labcorp → use template Lab_Results_v2”. Works really well for automated pipelines.

The forwarding address approach sounds simpler for us. Thanks Roger! One follow up — is there a size limit on attachments?

50MB per attachment, 100MB total per email. Should be fine for most lab reports!
